August 16, 2007 Falls Church, Flat Roof, Raymondale

Updated: 1955 Flat-Roof in Raymondale – $399K

When I originally posted this home in Raymondale in Falls Church, there was only one exterior picture so I repeated the agent’s view that the flat-roof home as a fixer-upper and a “Handyman´s Dream.” As you can see from the post from reader Greg, the interior images tell another story. It looks like it is in original condition and even has the cool 1950s escutcheons, or plates that surround the doorknob where it enters the door. These can be seen in the “living room” photo on the dark door. The house needs some work, but at least you’re starting with a true vintage base rather than some ugly “upgrade” from the 1980s or today.

whoa, that’s not a “fixer upper,” it’s in original-owner condition. even the appliances in the kitchen look original.

It’s not a spectacular design, but it is plenty clean enough that some smart freshening up is all it’d need. Can’t believe they’re selling it as “ripe for expansion”.
