1967 ‘Hawaiian’ Modern in Arlington – $1.299 Million

This 1967 mid-century modern home in Arlington is being marketed as a “Hawaiian style contemporary.” The centerpiece of this organic modern 4/3 home is the (octagonal?) living room with free-standing fireplace, wood-beamed ceilings, walls of glass and deck covered by a soaring roof with extended eaves. The Nelson lamps help continue the mid-century vibe. You can view images here. The house is located on a .58 acre wooded lot near the GW Parkway and Potomac River.

Very unique house and great location. But even looking past the funky decor, I'm staring at a costly renovation project for the kitchen and baths. 1.3 mill is a steep price.
