1967 ‘River Home’ in Wessynton – $649K

This listing for one of the 37 River Home models in the mid-century modern community of Wessynton has a nice setting and some beautiful landscaping on the .36 acre lot. Wessynton is located nine miles south of Old Town Alexandria, and was designed by Deigert & Yerkes, one of the leading mid-century modern architectural teams in the D.C. area. The community was built by developer Miller & Smith, which also built Truro in Annandale and Drumaldry in Bethesda.

Here’s a description from the original brochure for the River Home design: “The architectural symmetry provided by architects Deigert & Yerkes becomes functional on the interior. You’ll observe that the sixteen foot entry with its natural slate floor and Hitch-matched walnut paneling effectively separates the living area of the home from the bedrooms. The living and dining areas flow together to provide an entertainment space 35 feet long.”
