1966 Deigert & Yerkes Design in Manor Woods – $489K

Manor Woods

This 1966 mid-century split foyer designed by Deigert & Yerkes is tucked into the trees of the Manor Woods neighborhood in Rockville. It was just listed for $489K. Looks like an open house tomorrow (Sept. 29) from 1 to 4 pm.  The 4 bedroom/3 bathroom home has nice walls of glass and expansive deck and patio to enjoy the surrounding nature, which is appropriate since  Deigert & Yerkes also designed the National Arboretum Administration Building. Manor Woods was the first of a string of “contemporary” communities developed by Miller & Smith in the 1960s and early ’70s. They also built Wessynton, Truro and Drumaldry. Deigert & Yerkes designed Wessynton and Truro as well.

Cute house. The neighborhood is quite isolated though.
