Three Deck Houses in NoVa

One version of the classic mid-century Deck House.

If you are looking for a Deck House close to the Beltway, there are a trio listed in Northern Virginia. This one in Great Falls has been seriously expanded and updated and sits on more than 5 acres, including a stream-fed pond. It is listed for$1.899 million. Here’s one in North Arlington that is listed for $1.35 million and is open 1-4 pm. And here is another in Reston listed for $998K.

Deck House, Inc. was founded in 1959 by William Berkes. The Deck House typically featured his pioneering mid-century post-and-beam construction with exposed Douglas fir beams and tongue-and-groove vaulted ceilings. In 1995, Deck House merged with Acorn Structures, which was founded in 1947. After some financial difficulties, the company is back in business and renamed to reflect its roots: the Acorn Deck House Company, owned by Trudeau Homes International.
