This expanded 4 bedroom/2 bathroom Charles Goodman designed mid-century modern home features a soaring master suite addition by Robert Calhoun Smith, a Goodman associate who later served as the supervising architect of the National Cathedral.

The 1,850 square foot one-level home, originally built in 1950 as a Goodman Unit House No. 2, combines its vintage touches such as wood walls and original parquet flooring with key updates, including double-paned windows (nearly all of the house) and newer roof, gutters, furnace and water heater. The house as dual zoned HVAC system and has two water heaters for each side of the house.

The central focus of the house is the open living-dining area, which features walls of glass, wood-burning fireplace built-in bar/buffet and vintage Danish wall unit. The kitchen, just off the dining area, features vintage St. Charles steel cabinets and opens to a stone-floored solarium that can be used as a sitting area or breakfast nook.

The private master suite addition is situated on the opposite side of the house from the original three bedrooms and one bathroom. The master suite features cathedral ceilings, ample closet space and sliding glass doors that open to the backyard. The bathroom has double sinks, open-tiled shower and vintage lighting. The bathroom also includes the clothes washer and dryer.

The .35 flat lot features a large front brick patio, small back patio and large paved driveway. A large wood shop and potting shed could be used as storage space or areas to expand the size of home.
