Condo in Southwest I.M. Pei Building – $299K
Here’s another post on Southwest. This one is for a contemporary 1 bed/1 bath unit in a mid-century modern building designed by I.M. Pei. Waterfront Tower, as it is now called, is one of four buildings designed in 1960 by Pei as part of the major urban renewal effort in Southwest. The four apartment buildings were known as Town Center Plaza Towers and they surrounded the Chloethiel Woodard Smith-designed Waterside Mall, which has been replaced with the Waterfront Station near the Metro on 4th St. Local architecture firm Torti Gallas & Partners redid the entire interior in “green” fashion although the developers did not pay for LEED certification.
