Under Contract: Federal Modern in Petworth by Cook Architecture

Here’s a modern twist to a piece of traditional D.C. architecture. Modern Capital sponsor Michael Cook of Cook Architecture took this 1925 rarely available detached Federal-style home in Petworth and  transformed into into an inviting, open and modern space. The 3 bed/3.5 home was recently listed for $599K. The Northern Virginia- and Los Angeles-based firm of Cook Architecture is an award-winning, architecture and interior design practice, known nationally for its expertise in conceiving  a wide array of new structures and re-imagining existing spaces, including many mid-century modern residences.  To the firm’s credit are more than 200 projects, in locations including California, Arizona, Washington D.C., Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New York, Maine.You can see all the pictures here.

  1. How cool is that house?! Sometimes I cut through that neighborhood on my way home, so I’ll have to check it out. I’m starting to think Michael C. has an aversion to upper cabinets. :)
