Lecture: Wheaton’s Modern Architecture

University of Maryland architecture professor Dr. Isabelle Gournay will give a lecture May 12 entitled “WTOP and Beyond: Modern Architecture in Wheaton.” Gournay, who has conducted a statewide survey of mid-century modern resources and authored many National Register nominations, will speak from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Wheaton Library. I recently wrote about  WTOP’s Bauhaus building on University Boulevard  the Keyes, Lethbridge and Condon-designed Wheaton Rec Center on Georgia. I look forward to hearing about these and the other mid-century modern gems of Wheaton.
