Eames-Saarinen Case Study House #9 For Sale

Case Study House #9

The Charles Eames and Eero Saarinen-designed Case Study House #9 in the Pacific Palisades is for sale for $15.95 million. If you purchase the house, which was designed for Arts and Architecture editor and publisher John Entenza who created the Case Study House program,  you will also get  a 1991 Barry Berkus-designed home on the property. Designed by Charles Eames and Eero Saarinen in 1949, the the steel-frame Case Study House #9–now converted into a guesthouse for the 9,500 square foot Berkus contemporary–sold in June 2010 for $10 million. While the new home is sited in between the original house and the once unobstructed view toward the ocean, it looks like some of the views from original house are not totally blocked by the much larger house.) I took the above shot from the property of the next door neighbor–the Eames House. You can see great vintage photos and get more info on the Entenza House by clicking here.
