1961 Mid-Century with Atrium in Woodside Park – $669K

Hope everyone is having a happy holiday season. Today, I’m highlighting Woodside Park. The neighborhood, near downtown Silver Spring, was was first developed in the 1920s, but has a number of architectural styles, including modern homes from the 1950s and ’60s in its park-like setting. This 5 bed/3.5 bath 1961 home has many original details and large expanses of glass, but the most striking feature is the three-story center atrium with glass enclosed rock garden on the bottom level. Check out the images here.

I wish everyone a Happy New Year. Thanks, as always, for reading and supporting the site and sponsors during the past year. Here’s to a very merry and modern 2o12.

I’ve driven by this place thousands of times and always wondered about it. The most unusual feature may be the fact that the front door is reached via a bridge.
